Tudor House is located in a popular residential suburb on the South side of Birmingham and enjoys easy access to public bus routes for local areas and the city centre. There are local shops and community facilities within walking distance of the home. There is also a nearby train station which is only a 5 minute bus ride away and has a direct links to Birmingham City Centre and Redditch.
The home was originally two properties, which have been converted to offer residential care for 22 older people. The home has two shared bedrooms all the rest being single. The majority of bedrooms have en suite facilities.
There are three bathrooms, two of which have been converted to a walk in shower giving easy access for those service users with mobility difficulties and those who required staff assistance. The other bathroom is equipped with a Parker bath. Toilets are located throughout the home.
A month’s trial period is normal whenresidents first join us. This allows an individualised care plan to be agreed and the new resident to decide if we provide what they are looking for in the long term.
The bedrooms are all fully furnished and residents are encouraged to bring small items of personal furniture, pictures providing the furniture is suitable for the room and complies with fire regulations.
All bedrooms are fitted with television points and some have telephone points. Residents are welcome to have telephone lines installed in their room if there is not one already there providing they agree to meet the costs personally. Alternatively Relatives and friends are welcome to call their loved ones on the home number and residents can take this call in the privacy of their own room if they so wish. There will be a lockable drawer in every bedroom in order for residents to lock away valued possessions.Residents are provided with keys for their cupboards and bedroom doors unless their risk assessment suggests otherwise. Doors to resident’s private accommodation are fitted with locks suited to resident’s capabilities and accessible to staff in emergencies. All rooms have suitable lighting, ventilation, water supply and heating which meet relevant environmental health and safety requirements.
You may be able to bring your pet – you should discuss arrangements with the manager.
Rooms are normally decorated prior to admission and residents are welcome to ask for a particular colour scheme of their choice.
Laundry is carried out on site and is returned to each resident the following day.
We have a communal lounge and dinning area where residents meet daily and take part in activities of their choice.
Toilet facilities and wash areas are situated conveniently throughout the home.
Each service user is provided with a statement of terms and conditions at the point of moving into the home (or contract if purchasing their care privately).
